Payroll Accountant

About the Role  Our client is looking for a meticulous and reliable Payroll Accountant to manage their payroll operations with a hybrid work arrangement in Kimberley . This role is crucial for ensuring timely and accurate payment of salaries and wages to all employees, while maintaining compliance with labor laws and tax regulations. You will be responsible for processing payroll, managing employee data, and resolving any payroll-related queries.

Key Responsibilities   Process semi-monthly or monthly payroll accurately and on time, ensuring all deductions and contributions are correctly calculated.
Manage employee payroll information, including new hires, terminations, and changes to compensation or benefits.
Ensure compliance with all relevant South African labor laws, BCEA, and tax regulations pertaining to payroll.
Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and reports to relevant authorities (e.g., SARS).
Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve any discrepancies or issues that arise.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and pay slips in a professional manner.
Requirements   Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Human Resources.
Proven experience as a Payroll Accountant or similar role, with a strong understanding of payroll processing.
In-depth knowledge of South African payroll legislation and tax requirements.
Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., VIP Payroll, Sage Payroll) and Microsoft Excel .
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
