Role Summary

Terus Construction, a division of Colas Western Canada Inc., is seeking a Heavy Duty Equipment Operator to join our team in Cranbrook, BC.

Main Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the equipment operator include, but are not limited to:

Capable of operating heavy equipment

Operate all heavy equipment safely and efficiently according to all relevant legislation, policies and procedures

Must be self-motivated, driven and able to work well independently

Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment

Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment, and clean, lubricate, and refill the equipment as necessary

Ensure that equipment is stored safely and securely

Capable of loading and unloading trucks safely and efficiently

Able to take and follow instruction from supervisor, adjust to changing conditions and communicate any and all needs to supervisor, as well as working as part of a team

Capable of doing various tasks and labour duties as required

Requirements

A minimum Class 5 drivers license (preference given to applicants with class 1 or 3 license)

Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol testing requirements

2-3 years experience operating a diverse range of construction equipment is required

3-5 years in the construction industry is preferred

Profile

The anticipated hourly wage for this position is $35-$38 CAD per hour. The final compensation package will be determined based on factors including the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
