1. This full-time role focuses on ensuring compliance with construction regulations and safety standards.

In this position, you will report to the Director of Planning and Development Services, overseeing the design and construction aspects of buildings. Key responsibilities include assessing new and existing structures, inspecting renovations, and liaising with regulatory bodies. Your expertise will enforce health, fire safety, and building codes, ensuring safe occupancy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate design and occupancy of buildings and structures

• Inspect construction renovations and alterations

• Review plans for compliance with codes and standards

• Liaise with fire and planning departments effectively

• Prepare detailed reports and documentation

Requirements:

• Grade 12 education or equivalent

• Level 1 Building Official Certificate

• Class 5 B.C. driver’s license

• Excellent organization and communication skills

• Proficiency in BC Building and Plumbing Codes
