Location: Laurie Middle School, Cranbrook, BC

Contract Type: Full-time Temporary (1.0 FTE)

Salary Range: The starting annual salary for this teaching position ranges from $63,357 to $111,802, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.

Terms and conditions are pursuant to the Collective Agreement between the Cranbrook and Fernie Teachers' Association and School District No. 5 (Southeast Kootenay).

Preference will be given to applicants with BC Teacher Certification.

Must have a degree/formal training and/or teaching experience in subjects and at a level specific to each posting.

Job Summary

Math & Science Teacher - Grades 8 & 9

1.0 FTE temporary contract, starting March 30, 2026 (or upon completion of the posting process) to June 25, 2026, or return of the incumbent.

  • Deliver instruction in 3 blocks of Math 8, 1 block of Math 9, and 3 blocks of Science 9.
  • All work will be on site.
  • Continuing teachers will need to vacate their continuing assignment in order to accept a temporary assignment unless the FTE is greater.
Qualifications
  • Must have a degree/formal training and/or teaching experience at the Intermediate level.
  • Must have a degree/formal training and/or teaching experience in Math and Science.
