Position: Full-Time Counsellor for Grades 7-9
Join Laurie Middle School in Cranbrook, BC, as a full-time Counsellor for Grades 7-9. Leverage your expertise in counseling and trauma-informed practices on site to support students' well-being.

This continuing contract position starts September 8, 2026, or when the posting process is complete. Qualified candidates should hold a Master’s Degree in Counseling or Psychology and experience in intermediate education. The ideal applicant will also have training in trauma-informed practices and a preference for BC Teacher Certification.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide counseling support for Grades 7-9 students

• Implement trauma-informed practices effectively

• Collaborate with teachers and parents to support student needs

• Conduct assessments for student well-being

• Facilitate workshops and sessions for mental health awareness

Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in Counseling or Psychology

• Experience in intermediate level education

• Training or experience in trauma-informed approaches

• BC Teacher Certification preferred

• Commitment to student welfare and support
