Position: Counsellor – Grades 7‑9

Location: Laurie Middle School, Cranbrook, BC

Contract Type: Full‑time Continuing (1.0 FTE)

Salary Range: $70,392 to $118,611 annually, based on experience and qualifications.

This is a 1.0 FTE continuing contract commencing September 8 2026 or upon completion of the posting process. The successful candidate will work on‑site as a high‑school counsellor serving grades 7–9 at Laurie Middle School.

• Provide individual and group counselling to students in grades 7–9.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents and external agencies to support student wellbeing.
• Develop and implement trauma‑informed practices and school‑wide initiatives.
• Maintain accurate records and comply with the School District’s reporting requirements.

• Master’s degree recognized by the BC Teacher Regulation Branch in Counselling, Psychology (Counselling) or Psychology.
• BC Teacher Certification preferred.
• Prior experience in counselling or teaching at the intermediate level.
• Training and experience in trauma‑informed practice.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
