Industrial Mechanical Engineer

About the Role  Our client is seeking a practical and experienced Industrial Mechanical Engineer to join their manufacturing operations team in Kimberley . This role focuses on optimizing mechanical systems within an industrial setting to improve efficiency, reliability, and safety. You will be responsible for troubleshooting equipment issues, implementing preventative maintenance programs, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of industrial machinery, process engineering, and a hands‑on approach to problem‑solving.

This position is crucial for maintaining and enhancing operational performance in the Northern Cape region.

Key Responsibilities   Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial mechanical equipment and machinery.
Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
Analyze equipment failures and implement corrective actions to improve reliability.
Optimize mechanical processes and systems to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards in all mechanical operations.
Collaborate with production teams and other engineering disciplines to support operational goals.
Requirements   Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
4+ years of experience in industrial mechanical engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of industrial machinery, hydraulics, pneumatics, and automation systems.

Experience with CMMS software for maintenance management.
Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical failures and implementing solutions.
Good understanding of safety protocols and environmental regulations in industrial settings.
