About the Role  Our client, a premier game development studio in Kimberley , is looking for a highly skilled Senior Character Technical Artist . You will bridge the gap between character art and game engine implementation, focusing on optimizing character models, rigging, and deformation for high-fidelity visuals and performance. This role requires a deep understanding of character art workflows, advanced rigging techniques, and proficiency in scripting and engine integration.

Key Responsibilities   Develop and implement advanced character rigs, ensuring realistic deformation and flexibility.
Optimize character models and textures for real-time rendering, balancing visual quality with performance.
Collaborate closely with character artists and animators to troubleshoot rigging and skinning issues.
Integrate character assets into the game engine, ensuring proper setup and functionality.
Develop tools and scripts to automate and improve character art and rigging pipelines.
Stay up-to-date with the latest character technology and techniques in the industry.
Requirements   Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Technical Artist , with a focus on character development.
Expertise in character rigging, skinning, and animation principles using software like Maya.
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, MEL) for pipeline automation.
Strong understanding of game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity) and their character systems.

Experience with character modeling and texturing software is a plus.
