Senior Financial Controller

About the Role  Our client is seeking a highly competent and experienced Senior Financial Controller to lead their financial operations in Kimberley . This crucial role involves overseeing all aspects of financial accounting, reporting, and internal controls within the banking and finance sector. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, managing the financial closing process, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate is a meticulous professional with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of financial reporting standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities   Manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes.
Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local regulations.
Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies during audits and examinations.
Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic business decisions.
Requirements   Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CA(SA) or equivalent professional qualification is mandatory.
Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in financial accounting and control, preferably within the financial services industry.
Extensive knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and South African accounting regulations.
Proven experience in managing accounting teams and implementing financial systems.
Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
