Salary Range: DEO Hourly Rate - $49.50; DDEO Hourly Rate - $44.00

Job Summary: District Electoral Officers (DEOs) and Deputy District Electoral Officers (DDEOs) plan, manage, and administer provincial elections, by‑elections, and other electoral events. Acting as local representatives of the Chief Electoral Officer, they ensure impartial and fair elections that are accessible and inclusive. They uphold EBC values, foster a positive culture, and coordinate the full election lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan for, manage, and administer general elections, by‑elections, and other events within assigned districts.
  • Coordinate readiness activities and ensure staffing, material, and financial resources are available.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, maintaining an impartial, transparent, and accountable environment.
  • Lead and supervise a diverse workforce, ensuring training and support for all staff.
  • Prepare and submit accurate reports on electoral activities, maintaining compliance with the Election Act and related legislation.
Qualifications
  • Broad management experience and ability to lead teams.
  • Strong planning, organization, and project‑management skills.
  • Proficiency with computer technology and office automation.
  • Experience in resource management – human, material, and financial.
  • Excellent judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work part‑time during low‑activity periods and full‑time during election periods.
