Tourism Development Officer

About the Role  Our client, a regional tourism board focused on promoting the unique attractions of the Northern Cape, is seeking an enthusiastic Tourism Development Officer . This role involves identifying opportunities to enhance the region's tourism offerings, working with local businesses, and developing strategies to attract more visitors. You will play a key part in the sustainable growth of the tourism sector, fostering partnerships and contributing to the economic development of the area.

This position offers a hybrid work model, combining remote flexibility with on-site engagement in Kimberley and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities   Research and identify potential new tourism products and experiences within the region.
Develop and implement strategic plans for tourism growth and promotion.
Collaborate with local tourism stakeholders, including hotels, tour operators, and government agencies.
Organize and participate in tourism fairs, workshops, and marketing events.
Gather and analyze tourism data to inform development strategies and report on progress.
Assist in the development of marketing materials and digital content to promote the region.
Requirements   Bachelor's degree in Tourism Management, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in tourism development, marketing, or a similar role.
Strong understanding of the tourism industry and its economic impact.
Excellent research, analytical, and project management skills.
Effective communication and presentation abilities.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid setting.
