Overview

As a Business Development Specialist, you will report to the Business Development Manager, and work closely with the entire Business Development and District Leadership Teams. There will be vital interaction to ensure our approach to new work pursuits is an organized and efficient operation.

Weeks Marine is headquartered in Cranford, New Jersey, and manages a network of regional offices in Louisiana, Texas, Hawaii, Guam, Ontario, and Nova Scotia.

This position is based out of Cranford, NJ. This is a shared service environment in a professional office setting.

Responsibilities

CRM & Pipeline Management
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of Kiewit’s CRM tool to reflect current opportunities and pipeline status.
  • Administer and update project pages with relevant contacts, competitors, and owner information.
  • Generate and qualify leads to support business development efforts.
Market Research & Strategy
  • Conduct market research to identify, qualify, and pursue new project opportunities.
  • Prepare reports, studies, statistical analyses, and presentations for strategic planning, conferences, and business plans.
  • Track and manage budgets for trade events, shows, and conferences.
Proposal & Marketing Support
  • Support the proposal management process, including responses to RFEIs, RFQs, and RFPs.
  • Write, edit, and manage the development of complex proposals and pre-qualification packages.
  • Assist in producing marketing, advertising, and graphic design materials.
Client Engagement & Relationship Building
  • Develop and maintain trusting relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders.
  • Lead client visits and presentations, especially with internal stakeholders less familiar with the sales process.
  • Utilize industry contacts to understand client organizations, decision-making structures, and strategic priorities.
Process Improvement & Coordination
  • Identify and implement improvements in marketing support services.
  • Coordinate and develop standardized processes, procedures, and decision trees.
  • Actively participate in regular business development meetings and weekly progress calls.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Library Science/Information Science, Business, Communications, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, marketing, or proposal coordination, preferably in the energy or infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and presentation tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in client-facing roles and strategic relationship management.
