Overview

Our client, a reputable independent garage in Cranleigh, Surrey, is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join their professional team. This role offers a valuable opportunity for experienced technicians to work within a supportive environment that focuses on quality workmanship, ongoing development, and career advancement.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct advanced diagnostics and fault finding on a wide range of vehicles, including prestige models
  • Perform mechanical repairs and routine servicing to manufacturer standards
  • Identify and resolve intermittent faults requiring detailed diagnostic work
  • Support engine rebuilds, timing chain repairs, and software updates using OEM tools and parts
  • Maintain high standards of repair quality to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Support the workshop with technical advice and documentation as needed
Benefits
  • Salary up to £55,000 dependent on experience
  • Bonus exceeding £6,000 annually, on top of basic salary
  • Estimated total earning of approximately £55,000, based on core hours and performance
  • Monday to Friday working hours, 8:30am to 5:00pm
  • Optional Saturday overtime (1 in 4 Saturdays, 8:30am to 1:00pm), contributing towards monthly bonus
  • 22 days holiday plus bank holidays

Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician with strong diagnostic capabilities
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Level 3 qualification in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent
  • MOT Tester qualification is desirable but can be obtained through the employer if not already held
  • Experience with electrical diagnostics and tools such as Autel, Autologic, VIDA, or ODIS
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality work
  • Willingness to learn new skills and technologies
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and within a team
