We are seeking a committed and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a well-regarded specialist school located just outside of Guildford. This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people in a nurturing and structured setting, helping them grow both academically and personally.
Location:
Just outside of Guildford
Hours:
Monday: 8:30am – 4:00pm
Tuesday to Thursday: 8:30am – 4:15pm
Friday: 8:30am – 3:45pm
Salary: £14.00 - £15.50 per hour
Contract:
Long-term / Temp-to-Perm
Own transport is essential due to the school’s rural location.
The Role:
Support students with a range of complex mental health and additional needs, providing consistency, encouragement, and reassurance throughout the school day.
Work collaboratively with teaching staff and the wider school team to maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment.
Encourage and guide pupils in developing emotional regulation, confidence, and positive engagement with learning.
Assist learners across different key stages, helping them build independence and achieve meaningful progress.
The school prides itself on its therapeutic and individualised approach, offering small class sizes and a strong focus on tailored learning strategies to support each student’s unique needs.
What We’re Looking For:
A patient and empathetic individual with a genuine passion for supporting children and young people with SEN.
Previous experience within an SEN, education, care, or support setting is beneficial but not essential.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
A positive, adaptable, and proactive approach.
