Deployment Technician

H-Power is a UK-based, AIM-listed clean energy company developing zero-emissions hydrogen power systems. As a Deployment Technician, you will be responsible for installing, commissioning, operating and supporting H-Power's hydrogen fuel cell systems at customer sites across the UK and internationally. This is a hands‑on, customer‑facing field service role that combines technical problem solving with regular travel, supporting the successful deployment of cutting‑edge clean energy technology.

When not on customer sites, you'll work from H-Power's Surrey facility preparing systems for future deployments, supporting testing and commissioning activities, monitoring operational data, maintaining equipment and stock, and contributing to continuous improvement of deployment processes.

• Install, commission, operate and remove hydrogen fuel cell systems at customer sites across the UK and internationally.
• Carry out fault finding, diagnostics and technical support on deployed equipment.
• Coordinate the loading, transportation and positioning of deployment equipment in accordance with site and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare hydrogen fuel cell systems and associated equipment for field deployment.
• Complete deployment documentation including installation records, checklists, RAMS and service reports.
• Work closely with engineering teams to investigate and resolve technical issues identified in the field.
• Carry out customer site surveys to assess future deployment opportunities.
• Support customer training and maintain a professional, customer‑focused approach at all times.
• Monitor deployed systems, collect operational data and contribute to continuous product improvement.
• Ensure all deployment activities comply with company procedures, health & safety standards and relevant site regulations.

• Previous experience in a field service, deployment, commissioning or installation engineering role.
• Hands‑on engineering background with an electrical bias preferred.
• Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work directly with customers and engineering teams.
• Safety‑focused with a professional approach to working on customer sites.
• Self‑motivated team player with the ability to work independently.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Experience with battery energy storage systems (BESS), inverters, hydrogen fuel cells or compressed gases would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of DSEAR, CDM or hydrogen safety regulations would be beneficial but is not essential.
• Willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK and internationally.
