ROLE: COMMUNITY CARE ASSISTANT
LOCATION: Cranleigh, Bramley, Shamley Green, Wonersh, Ewhurst, Alfold, Dunsfold.
To provide a high standard of personalised and practical care services to Service Users in their own homes, whilst adhering to safe working practices, ensuring privacy, personal choices and dignity of Service Users. To act as a link between the Service Users and Lantern Care Services and report any deterioration in the Service Users circumstances or well-being.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- To deliver care services in a non-discriminatory way, supporting the values and unique qualities of each Service User.
- To establish relationships and routines in the way the Service User would like their care delivered.
- To assist Service Users with personal care.
- To ensure that personal care items are left clean and hygienic.
- To assist Service Users with menu planning and meal preparation.
- To treat a Service User and their home with respect.
- To provide domestic assistance to keep area’s hygienic.
- To encourage, prompt or assist with giving medication in line with the care plan.
- To carry out shopping and or other errands agreed in the care plan.
- To work within the context of Lantern Care Services policies and procedures.
- To wear the uniform and identity badge at all times.
- To help Service Users where possible maintain mental and physical hobbies to enhance well‑being.
- To act as a role model for all staff, demonstrating good care practices and communication with both colleagues and Service Users.
- Maintain professionalism at all times.
- To report and record any concerns relating to a Service Users well‑being.
- To record accurate legible notes at the end of each visit, based on fact and not opinions.
- To report any faulty equipment that could compromise the safety of all.
- To report any safeguarding concerns immediately.
- To attend supervision, training and team meetings.
- To undertake any other duties as reasonably requested.
- NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care desirable.
- Commitment to attend training as required.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Car driver with use of car for business purposes.
- Flexibility to meet the demands of the service.
- Professionalism.
- Excellent time management skills.
Mornings: 7am-2pm
Evenings: 4pm-10pm
PAY- Weekdays: £12.50 to £16.70 per hour
- Weekends: £16.57 to £23.60 per hour
- Mileage: 45p per mile, paid from home

- Holiday pay at 12.1% of the hours you work.
Drivers preferred
No experience but a willingness to learn needed, full training will be given.
