** About the job
** In this position, you will:
* Implement regional customs and trade compliance policies and procedures.
* Develop and deploy strategies to optimize regional trade costs in line with applicable laws and regulations.
* Monitor and ensure compliance with regional trade laws, regulations, and agreements.
* Conduct regular audits and assessments of customs and trade compliance practices.
* Provide guidance and training to regional stakeholders on customs and trade compliance matters.
* Liaise with regional government authorities and industry bodies on customs and trade compliance questions.
* Oversee all imports, exports, and customs special procedures, including Free Trade Zones (FTZs).
* Ensure the accuracy and integrity of trade data (HTS, COO, Preferential Origin) and maintain audit readiness.
* Oversee regional customs operations and report on cost, service, and quality.
** About you
** We are looking for a unique and amazing talent, who brings along the following:
* Comprehensive knowledge of import/export laws, customs regulations, and tariff classifications.
* Familiarity with trade agreements such as USMCA, WTO regulations, and compliance programs.
* Strong attention to detail in handling documentation and reporting to avoid costly fines and shipment delays.
* Ability to interpret complex legal language, assess risks, and provide practical compliance solutions.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to train stakeholders and collaborate with internal teams, government agencies, and external partners.
* Proficiency in compliance software and systems such as SAP Global Trade Services, Descartes Customs Info, and Oracle Global Trade Management.
* Familiarity with ERP systems and data management tools (a plus).
* Relevant certifications such as Certified Customs Specialist (CCS), Certified Export Specialist (CES), or Licensed Customs Broker (LCB).
* University degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, Law, or a related field.
* 5+ years of professional experience in customs and trade compliance, ideally in an international setting.
