Brief Description

Do you believe in the power of after school programs to build confident, connected, and inspired young people? We’re looking for a passionate, organized, and creative leader to serve as our Site Coordinator at Hugh

B. Bain Middle School in Cranston. In this role, you'll oversee the day-to-day operations of the YMCA’s After School program, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and enriching experience for all participants.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the planning and implementation of high-quality, engaging programming that supports academic growth and social-emotional learning.
• Supervise program staff, support professional development, and promote a culture of inclusion, respect, and positive behavior.
• Track and report on student progress using tools like pre/post tests and SEL assessments.
• Build strong relationships with families, school staff, and community partners.
• Manage daily logistics, including program materials, snack service, and safety protocols.

What You’ll Bring

• A passion for youth development, and a strong sense of humor never hurts.
• Bachelor’s degree (or Associate’s degree with additional experience) in education, child development, recreation, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of supervised experience working with school-age youth in group settings.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• The ability to stay calm, kind, and nimble when life throws curveballs (as it often does in middle school).

Additional Details

• This is a grant-funded position through June 30 2026. Continued employment is contingent upon the availability of funding.
• Must meet all RI DHS licensing requirements for school-age programs.
• This role may include occasional evening hours for family events or professional development.
