Job Summary
The Store Manager plays a critical role in supporting merchandising, operational, and human resources functions for an individual store to achieve or exceed planned sales and profits. This proactive and vigilant leader remains highly engaged with customers, demonstrates integrity, and communicates effectively in a dynamic retail setting. The Store Manager builds a positive work culture, drives employee involvement, and supports change management efforts within the retail organization.
Duties/Responsibilities- Recruit, interview, hire, counsel, and terminate employees following legal compliance and internal processes.
- Maintain financial controls including shrink, payroll, and other operating expenses.
- Control inventory and facilitate inventory transactions while ensuring compliance with shrink control standards.
- Monitor sales activities to ensure customers receive satisfactory service.
- Direct and supervise employees engaged in sales, inventory-taking, reconciling cash receipts, or performing services for customers.
- Ensure adherence of staff members to all Citi Trends, Inc. policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of retail experience as a Store Manager.
- Store Managers are scheduled to work 45 hours per week and must be able to perform the essential physical functions listed below with or without accommodation.
- Squat/Kneel/Stoop (Frequent to continuous)
- Stand/Bend/Walk (Frequent to continuous)
- Twist (Occasional to Frequent)
- Reach above shoulder (Occasional to Frequent)
- Lift/Carry (Occasional to Frequent)
