Catalog Merchandiser
America’s Favorite Jeweler, Ross‑Simons, a division of Luxury Brand Holdings, is seeking a Catalog Merchandiser based in our Cranston, RI office. The jewelry catalog merchandiser will work with the Director of Catalog Merchandising to build all catalogs from inception to presentation. This person should have a passion for jewelry, ability to analyze catalog and item performance and desire to learn how to effectively merchandise the Ross‑Simons catalog.
Job Duties and Responsibilities- Plan and develop overall and seasonal merchandising strategies for all catalogs.
- Analyze sales and customer response and forecast trends to determine the best product selection during catalog development.
- Merchandise catalogs spread incorporating analysis of prior books and trends. Determine catalog items based on various criteria’s including but not limited to price, success of similar items, new trends, size of the items.
- Prepare documents and present new catalogs to creative team.
- Work closely with creative team to ensure the most accurate representation of merchandise.
- Work closely with the SVP of Merchandising & Director of Catalog Merchandising on all catalog concepts and product to achieve overall company goals.
- Work closely with Merchandise Directors on addressing performance of jewelry placed in catalogs and future need for their categories.
- Assign page percentage for jewelry in order to evaluate performance in the catalogs.
- Ability to work with IT department on development requests to improve efficiencies or improve analytical reporting when needed.
- Maintain jewelry samples in the vault including organization and inventory control.
- Bachelor’s Degree or degree in Fashion Merchandising
- 2-3 years merchandise experience.
- Strong comprehensive understanding of PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel specifically able to create pivot tables and use VLOOKUPS formulas.
- Experience in analyzing data.
- Demonstrated effectiveness with decision making, influencing and negotiation skills.
- Ability to adapt to change quickly pace.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to understand and meet multiple important deadlines and schedules.
- Strong product sensibility.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Highly organized with an impeccable attention to detail.
- Display a positive attitude, professional manner and a willingness to be a team player and assist co‑workers at all levels.
- Adapts to and works effectively with a variety of situations, individuals or groups.
