Job Overview
As an HVAC/R Service Technician you will repair, maintain, replace and retrofit all manner of HVAC and Refrigeration equipment for the benefit of our customers. Expertise in diagnosis and repair of systems including (but not limited to):
Rooftop Units, gas heating systems, split systems, walk‑in coolers/freezer, ice machines, heat pumps, variable refrigerant flow systems, mini‑split systems, exhaust fans, energy recovery ventilators, makeup air units, chillers, boilers, hydronic pumps, and more.
- Come to work with your own hand tools and instruments of the trade
- Expertise in electrical wiring diagrams and control troubleshooting
- Ability to go “on call” for a week at a time on rotating basis for after‑hours coverage
- Excellent communication skills & customer relations – includes use of iPhone/iPad
- Act as “lead technician” on replacement jobs and supervise helpers
- Safety on the road and on the jobsite at all times
- Experience with DDC is a plus
- Other duties as assigned
- Journeyman Refrigeration license in RI and/or MA
- 7 – 10 years of field experience
- EPA universal refrigerant use certification
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience in Commercial and Industrial environments
This position requires the employee to work both inside and outside. The employee may be subject to loud noises and hot and cold temperatures while on work site. May occasionally walk on slippery or uneven surfaces. Will climb ladders and stairs every day.
Positions Type and Expected Hours of WorkWorkday is based on 8‑hour day between the hours of 7am and 5pm, Monday through Friday. Overtime will be available and work during nights and weekends will be required. Must be available for work during on‑call hours (rotating). Travel – up to 50‑mile radius from Providence – will be required every day.
TravelTravel is required throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
