Overview
Aspen Dental is hiring an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant. The organization emphasizes patient care, training, competitive compensation, and a collaborative culture.
Responsibilities- Assist the office team to maintain productive patient flow.
- Assist the doctors during a variety of treatment procedures.
- Breakdown operatory rooms for doctors and hygienists.
- Complete sterilization processes for equipment and operatory and ensure staff is trained and compliant.
- Follow maintenance schedules for waterlines, suction lines, autoclave, and compressor; maintain daily/weekly/monthly routines.
- Tray and operatory setup for all procedures.
- Support patient charting for doctors at a proficient level.
- Train others to execute patient handoffs and monitor patient flow.
- Follow OSHA regulations and Aspen safety requirements, including HIPAA compliance.
- Take dental radiographs (X-rays).
- Provide post-treatment oral care instructions to patients and educate on oral hygiene strategies.
- Complete denture soft relines and fabricate temporary crowns.
- Monitor and aid in management of laboratory cases.
- Perform quality intraoral health scans efficiently.
- Understand clear aligner processes and be able to articulate and teach.
- Take quality impressions and bite registrations.
- Perform expanded functions based on certifications to support patient care (e.g., coronal polishing, restorative functions).
- Ensure emergency kits and oxygen tanks are maintained.
- Order and maintain supplies in accordance with the practice budget.
- Perform various office tasks as necessary.
- Current Dental Assistant license/registration/certification as required by state.
- Radiology (X-ray) certification as required by state.
- Current CPR or BLS certificate.
- 2+ years of experience as a Dental Assistant.
- Proficiency in chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry.
- Knowledge of proper sterilization and infection control techniques.
- Maintain and update annual continuing education as specified by state.
- State certification in expanded functions as required by state.
