Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
The Intermediate Maintenance Technician works under general supervision and fully trained to complete responsibilities independently. He/she is a multi-skilled craftsperson responsible for the installation/startup and troubleshooting of all mechanical and electrical processes used in manufacturing, as well as support equipment located in the building or on the grounds – the objective being to maximize production and the functional longevity and appearance of the building, grounds and equipment.
ESSENTIALDUTIES ANDIBILITIES
Primary duties and responsibilities include the following, however, Management reserves the right to assign or reassign other appropriate duties to this job at any time.
- Follow all safety guidelines and participate as fully-empowered team member to achieve organization-wide goal of zero incidents
- Observes devices and equipment in operation and troubleshoot problems
- Performs various electromechanical maintenance functions
- Respond to internal customer service and trouble calls
- Makes necessary repairs to equipment, as required
- Perform equipment calibrations to all analytical equipment and measurement devices
- Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections
- Installs and prepares equipment for startup, as required
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments
- Repairs or replaces defective parts and installs special functional and structural parts in devices
- Provide timely and effective communication of important issues to supervisor
- Liaise and attend meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties
- Responsible for housekeeping in work area
- Uphold a safe, clean and orderly work environment
- Performs other related duties as required
- Quality of work meets best equipment engineering and maintenance practices
- Work closely with all shift peers and production team members

- Intermediate knowledge of PC usage required to include using Word, Excel, Microsoft Windows, and data entry operations.
- Participant in Emergency Response Team (ERT)

- The employee is sometimes required to sit and stoop, kneel, or crouch or
- Must be medically qualified to wear a respirator / self contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).
- Ability to drive forklift or other equipment (scissor lifts, extended lifts).
- Must be respirator certified and knowledgeable of building areas where required.
- Ability to climb ladders
