About the RoleAs a Teaching Assistant with SEN experience, you will play a crucial role in supporting the learning and development of the students with diverse needs. Your responsibilities will include:
- Individualized Support: Providing one-on-one and small group support to students with a variety of SEN, implementing tailored learning plans and strategies.
- Collaborative Teamwork: Working closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to ensure a coordinated and effective approach to student learning.
- Positive Classroom Environment: Creating a nurturing, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student engagement and well-being.
- Communication and
Collaboration:
Maintaining clear and effective communication with parents, caregivers, and other professionals involved in the student s care. - Adaptability and Flexibility: Demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in adjusting teaching strategies and support plans to meet individual student needs.
- Proven SEN
Experience:
Demonstrated experience working with students with a variety of SEN, including (list specific needs relevant to the school, e.g., autism, learning difficulties, physical disabilities). - Passionate and Empathetic: A genuine passion for supporting students with SEN and a deep understanding of their unique needs and challenges.
- Strong Communication
Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with students, teachers, and parents. - Team Player: A collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively as part of a dedicated and supportive team.
- Patient and Understanding: A calm and patient approach to working with students with diverse learning styles and emotional needs.
- Resourceful and Creative: The ability to think creatively and find innovative ways to support student learning and overcome challenges.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths.
- Relevant experience in a school setting is highly desirable.
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is preferred, or equivalent experience.
- SEN experience is essential.
