Overview

Our client, a brand new special needs school in Crawley, West Sussex, is seeking a SEN/SEMH (Special Educational Needs/Social, Emotional and Mental Health) Teacher to join their dynamic team. This is a full-time role with a competitive salary ranging from £37,869.52 to £50,474, depending on experience.

This role offers a temporary to permanent contract, providing opportunities to make a lasting impact on the lives of students and contribute to the ongoing development of the school's SEN/SEMH provision. Your commitment to professional development and your ability to adapt to the evolving needs of your students will be highly valued.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing and implementing individualised learning plans for students with SEN/SEMH needs
  • Providing differentiated instruction and support to ensure the academic, social, and emotional progress of each student
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including teaching assistants, therapists, and external professionals, to deliver a holistic approach to student support
  • Monitoring student progress and adjusting teaching strategies accordingly
  • Maintaining detailed records and contributing to the school's reporting and assessment processes
  • Participating in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge
Required Qualifications and Experience
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent desiered
  • Significant experience working with students with SEN/SEMH needs
  • Strong understanding of SEN/SEMH teaching methodologies and best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Proficiency in using technology to support teaching and learning
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and a desire to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field of SEN/SEMH education
