Firmware; FPGA​/SOC Engineer

Overview

Expleo is a leading Global Engineering Services Provider with UK presence in 10 locations. We are seeking Firmware (FPGA/SOC) Design Engineers to provide design/verification services to our client at their site in Crawley. The role is Hybrid – 3 days per week on site with additional periods on customer sites or integration facilities.

• Work within firmware teams to deliver projects on time, within cost and quality targets.
• Verify firmware using Hardware Verification Languages or Hardware Description Languages.
• Design firmware using Hardware Description Languages.
• Enhance firmware-related processes, including documentation, scripting, reporting and process automation.
• Collaborate closely with multi‑disciplinary teams.

• Degree level qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
• HNC/HND acceptable if supported by significant demonstrable experience.

• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Specialisation in one or more of the following:
  • Verification testbench architecture (System Verilog or C++)
  • Advanced VHDL verification
  • OSVVM / UVVM methodologies
  • Digital design in VHDL, Verilog, System Verilog
  • Simulation using Mentor Graphics Model Sim/Questa Sim
  • Object‑oriented design techniques
  • Image processing algorithms
  • Algorithm development with MATLAB
  • Linux development environments
  • Vendor‑specific FPGA/ASIC development tools

• Experience delivering complex designs in a similar role.
• Implementing FPGA/ASIC designs with vendor tools.
• Developing verification test benches and architectures.
• Advanced VHDL or System Verilog verification.
• Algorithm development and/or image‑processing work.
• Experience with high‑speed interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet, Serial, AXI

• Managing requirements using IBM Rational DOORS or similar.

• UK sole nationality.
• SC clearance without caveats.
• Willingness and ability to travel to Crawley 3 days per week and spend periods at customer sites or integration facilities.
