The role will suit a hands‑on engineer with strong mechanical design experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work across multi‑disciplinary teams in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment. You will play a key part in designing, developing, testing, and delivering robust hardware solutions that meet demanding performance and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead or support the design and development of mechanical hardware solutions for flight simulators, ensuring they meet customer and industry requirements.
  • Create detailed technical specifications, models, and drawings for mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Work closely with systems, software, and project teams to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Carry out testing, validation, and troubleshooting to ensure performance, reliability, and compliance.
  • Support the evaluation of new technologies and materials to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Engage with suppliers to source and integrate mechanical and electrical components.
  • Support or lead project delivery to time, budget, and quality expectations.
What We’re Looking For
  • Degree‑level qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in mechanical hardware design and development.
  • Ability to perform hand calculations and use analytical design tools, including FEA, to verify structural adequacy.
  • Experience producing technical drawings, calculation packs, and supporting design reviews.
  • CAD experience with tools such as Creo/Pro‑E or CATIA V5 would be a distinct advantage.
  • Familiarity with PLM tools such as Windchill or Team centre would also be beneficial.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and experience in testing, validation, and hardware troubleshooting.
  • Confident working within multi‑disciplinary teams and communicating effectively at all levels.
  • Flight simulation, avionics, or aerospace experience is highly desirable, although we will also consider transferable experience from automotive, wind energy, or other similar industries.
