Position: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Crawley
Salary: 40,000 – 45,000 DOE
Job Type: Full–time, Permanent
Mechanical Design Engineer required for a specialist manufacturer of bespoke automation and special–purpose machinery based in West Sussex.
Our client is a well–established engineering business that designs and manufactures innovative automated production equipment and robotic systems supplied to customers across the UK and internationally.
Mechanical Design EngineerPosition Overview
- Design and development of bespoke automated machinery and robotic systems using Solid Works
- Produce detailed manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings and Bills of Materials
- Design mechanical components, fabricated assemblies, machined parts and pneumatic systems
- Support new product development and continuous improvement projects
- Work closely with electrical, controls, manufacturing and production teams
- Participate in design reviews and technical problem–solving activities
- Support machine build, testing and commissioning activities when required
Position Requirements
- HNC/HND or Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline
- Previous experience within a machinery, automation, robotics or special–purpose equipment environment
- Proficient with 3D CAD software, ideally Solid Works
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including machining, fabrication and assembly
- Experience producing detailed engineering drawings and BOMs
- Knowledge of pneumatic systems and automated machinery would be advantageous
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Salary 40,000 – 45,000 DOE
- Monday to Friday
