Indirect Tax & Customs Manager

Alexander Lloyd are proud to be partnering a prestigious and instantly recognisable brand to help recruit a Qualified (ACA/ACCA/CTA) Indirect Tax & Customs Manager.

Working out of their ultra modern Gatwick offices on a hybrid basis you will be responsible for managing The Group’s UK and International indirect tax related matters including, but not limited to VAT/GST, APD, Sales & Use Taxes, Stamp taxes, Customs and Excise duties

This role will be 70% focused on Customs and 30% Indirect tax. Extensive exposure to Customs is essential

Duties will include but not be limited too:

• In depth knowledge of UK indirect taxes and a good understanding of overseas indirect tax issues relevant to a large international Group.
• Ability to apply technical skills in a fast moving commercial environment and deliver results against tight deadlines.
• Experience being the subject matter expert and delivering relevant and understandable advice to the business. Able to support internal functions in implementing advice through to completion.
• Confidence to lead conversations with internal and external parties.
• Responsible for managing the group’s world-wide Indirect Tax compliance processes and associated payments.
• Technical review of Group returns and presentation to senior management for sign off.
• Management of the UK compliance processes to maximise the group’s cash position.
• Ownership of UK and International advisory projects. Managing project delivery and other department contributions through to submission and HMRC/Tax Authority sign off.
• Responsible for identifying changes in relevant tax legislation and determining actions required to meet compliance obligations.
• Provide technical support on tax compliance and advisory projects.
• Identify and propose tax compliance and planning opportunities for senior manager/business consideration.

• ACA/ACCA/CTA Qualified
• Extensive exposure to Indirect Tax including Customs (Essential)
• Ability to get to the Gatwick HQ 3 days PW
