Senior Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) / Team Lead

Alexander Lloyd is delighted to be exclusively partnering with an engineering company on the recruitment of an HR Business Partner. This high-impact senior role operates at leadership level, partnering closely with the senior leadership team to shape and deliver a progressive people agenda. The position plays a pivotal role in enabling business performance through effective workforce planning, talent development, employee relations and cultural leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic people advisor to the senior leadership team, aligning HR priorities with business objectives and long‑term workforce needs.
  • Lead workforce planning, succession, and capability development initiatives to ensure future organisational resilience.
  • Drive employee engagement, inclusion and wellbeing activity, embedding a positive and performance‑led culture across the business.
  • Oversee recruitment and resourcing activity, ensuring attraction and onboarding approaches are consistent, inclusive and aligned to employer brand values.
  • Provide expert, commercially balanced advice on complex employee relations matters, ensuring compliance, consistency and risk management.
  • Support leaders through organisational change programmes, including restructures, acquisitions and TUPE‑related activity.
  • Build leadership and management capability through coaching, development interventions and pragmatic HR guidance.
  • Utilise people data and insight to inform decision‑making, track key metrics and provide meaningful reporting to senior stakeholders.

Skills and Experience

  • Background in engineering, construction or similar regulated sectors would be advantageous.
  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to translate people strategy into tangible business outcomes.
  • Extensive experience managing complex employee relations and change programmes.
  • Proven ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders while building trusted, credible relationships.
  • Sound knowledge of UK employment legislation and best practice HR frameworks.
  • CIPD qualification or equivalent professional HR accreditation desirable.
