What you’ll be doing :Contribute to the performance of an effective and efficient IT function that supports the needs of People’s Partnership companies and linked 3rd party organisations. Operate within the function’s processes and standard operating procedures and actively contribute to the achievement of the IT departments’ overall objectives.
- Administer and maintain SQL Server databases across cloud (Azure) and on‑premises environments.
- Monitor availability, performance, and capacity across regions and zones.
- Support the current incident, problem, change and release management process. Adhered to internal IT processes and policies.
- Support High Availability and Disaster Recovery operations, including failover and recovery testing.
- Optimise database performance through query, index, and plan analysis.
- Review SQL code and recommend improvements.
- Monitor platform health and resolve issues proactively.
- Strong T‑SQL skills for troubleshooting, query tuning, stored procedures, and root‑cause analysis.
- SQL Server administration (2019+), including design, optimisation, and lifecycle management.
- Knowledge of working with Azure SQL and Azure SQL Managed Instances including business critical instances.
- Strong understanding of database security: RBAC, encryption, auditing, access control.
- Experience with database monitoring and alerting platforms such as Redgate SQL Monitor, Solar Winds or Azure Database Watcher.
- Experience with Data Factory, Logic Apps, or similar cloud data integration services.
- Experience with Azure Dev Ops and CI/CD pipeline management for database automation.
- Experience with Service Now (or similar) for incident and change management.
