Device Repairs Engineer

Salary: £27,000 per annum

Class Technology Solutions (CTS) is a leading Education ICT solutions provider that provides consultancy, infrastructure services, network development and upgrades, and managed support services to educational establishments throughout the UK. CTS seeks to develop and bring to market innovative solutions.

We are looking for a Device Repairs Engineer to work on-site at our Crawley-based Service Centre. Together with your team you will diagnose and repair laptops and help in other areas of the operations department when needed.

Key Tasks Technical
  • Diagnose incoming laptops for defects and damage and log appropriately.
  • Install a Windows operating system.
  • Perform maintenance of equipment, specialist repairs/modifications upgrades, software/hardware enhancements within own capabilities.
  • Diagnose a hardware problem versus accidental damage.
  • Provide neat fix, including cleaning of devices and ensuring the device is sealed properly. Training will be provided.
  • Check work appropriately and update tickets with diagnostic results; allocate ESD locations to repairs as part of our quality assurance process.
  • Provide a basic level of technical support to end users on a 1st line if needed.
  • Update tickets with relevant Easy4u status in line with relevant repair diagnosis.
Customer Service
  • Knowledge of dealing with individuals and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Ability to communicate well in written English.
  • Work with our Easy4u Service Platform and Helpdesk System to record items and ensure that customers are informed of progress with their repair.
  • A strive for quality, rather than quantity.
  • Experience in the IT field is desirable.
  • Background in repairing/building hardware.
  • A can-do attitude to provide the best service to our customers.
  • A self-starter – looking for suggestions on how to enhance our service.
  • Ability to work with quality and flexibility to meet customer demands.

Due to the nature of this role involving visiting education establishments, successful applicants are required to provide an enhanced DBS disclosure. Disclosure expense will be met by CTS.
