We are looking for an experienced field based account management professional to take ownership of an established and diverse customer portfolio. This role will position you as a trusted partner to long-standing clients, ensuring exceptional service delivery while proactively identifying opportunities for sustainable account growth. We seek someone who excels at developing meaningful client relationships, driving engagement, and maximising value within existing accounts.

Key Responsibilities

As the Account Manager, you will take responsibility for the retention, development and overall success of a regional client portfolio.

Duties include:

  • Proactively managing and strengthening relationships with existing customers, ensuring high levels of engagement and satisfaction
  • Identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities to maximise both product density and overall account value
  • Managing a structured call cycle to maintain regular and purposeful client contact
  • Following up on open quotations, progressing opportunities through to close
  • Acting as the primary liaison and trusted point of contact for set portfolio of customers
  • Engaging customers around preventative maintenance schedules and service requirements
  • Keeping clients informed on new products, innovations and promotional activity
  • Supporting follow-up activity for marketing campaigns
  • Identifying additional sites, gaining case studies, testimonials and referrals
  • Ensuring accurate CRM updates and full visibility of account activity within Hub Spot
  • Working with internal teams—including service, operations and credit control—to deliver a seamless client experience
  • Providing ongoing account support to ensure smooth purchasing and service delivery processes
Skills & Experience
  • A self-motivated, relationship-driven professional with proven experience managing and developing established accounts
  • Demonstrable success in account growth, customer retention and adding value by solution based selling
  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of delivering profitable business
  • Confident and engaging communicator capable of building long‑term partnerships
  • Experience supporting a broad customer portfolio at varying lifecycle stages
  • Proficient with CRM systems and MS Office; experience with Hub Spot and SAP Business One is highly advantageous
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities with a proactive, solutions‑focused mindset
  • Adaptable team player capable of supporting wider business initiatives
  • Aligned with our values of openness, respect, honesty and teamwork
  • Ideally has experience in selling an industrial based product or service in the B2B market
  • Must have valid clean UK driving licence and be prepared for extensive travel to customer network
