Opportunity Information
Sutter Health invites applications for a Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant who has primary, urgent, or walk‑in care experience. The role requires assessment, diagnosis, planning, and execution of patient care in collaboration with physicians, within the full scope of licensure.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop care plans.
- Coordinate and deliver care, including direct patient interaction, family education, and care transitions.
- Provide medical consultation and perform therapeutic procedures delegated by supervising physicians.
- Assist in various clinical procedures, patient education, treatment, and follow‑up.
- Conduct daily rounds and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications
- Experience
- Minimum 2 years of recent, relevant experience in an ambulatory, primary, or urgent care setting.
- Education, Licensure & Certifications
- For Nurse Practitioner:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- California (CA) and Oregon (OR) NP license required; second state license to be obtained upon hire.
- DEA furnishing license.
- BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications.
- For Physician Assistant:
- Graduate of AMA‑approved PA program.
- California (CA) and Oregon (OR) PA license required; second state license to be obtained upon hire.
- Maintenance of CME requirements as mandated by the license.
- BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications.
- For Nurse Practitioner:
- Skills & Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of patient care guidelines and documentation quality.
- Medical knowledge and skills appropriate to scope of practice.
- Proficient in medical terminology, anatomy & physiology.
- Working knowledge of electronic health records (e.g., EPIC).
- Critical thinking and ability to perform age‑appropriate assessments.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, listening) for collaboration across the organization.
- Analytical skills for interpreting test procedures and results.
- Interpersonal skills for collaboration with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Leadership, mentorship, and ability to maintain composure during challenging interactions.
