A Brief Overview

As an Auto Glass Technician at Safelite, you’re an entrepreneurial and hands‑on professional who uses our training, industry‑leading tools, and technology to complete repairs, replacements, and recalibrations both in the shop and on the go with our Mobile Glass Shop.

What You Will Do
  • Provide all vehicle glass repair and replacement services at a Safelite shop or Mobile Glass Shop efficiently, focusing on safety, quality, and exceptional customer service, and clean customer vehicles after every job.
  • Recalibrate automotive safety systems, including troubleshooting and completing diagnostic testing.
  • Operate Safelite’s tools and technologies, including True Seal®, Ezi‑Wire™, Glass Table System (GTS), chemicals (as required by “Safelite Way of Fitting”), work order, and customer administration systems, and the handheld Mobile Resource Management (MRM) technology.
  • Safely operate company and customer vehicles throughout the workday.
  • Communicate with customers in‑person, via text, and on the phone; present, promote, and sell Safelite promotional items and services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all policies and standards.
What You’ll Get
  • Competitive weekly pay starting at $22.25/hour, increasing to $26.50/hour after training and certification.
  • $5 per set of wiper blades when added for customer safety.
  • Career levels determined by performance metrics in efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Education Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent (preferred).
  • Valid state‑issued driver’s license (required).
  • Safelite Safe Tech™ certification (required).
Experience Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age or older (required).
Skills And Abilities
  • Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, bend and twist the body.
  • Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle in accordance with all laws and under in‑cab monitoring technology.
  • Professionalism and passion for outstanding customer service.
  • Ability to work outside in varied weather conditions for extended periods.
  • Knowledge of chemical safety per “Safelite Way of Fitting.”
  • Flexible work schedule to meet customer needs.
  • Proficiency in diagnostic tools for recalibration and troubleshooting.
  • Problem‑solving skills, both independently and collaboratively.
  • Reading, writing, and interpreting the English language and technical directions.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Maintain professional appearance and adhere to uniform and PPE policies.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and maintain stable performance.

This position involves driving duties that will be monitored through the use of cameras, GPS, and other tracking technologies to ensure safety and compliance.
