Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary

Mechanical Engineer role at Vanmark Equipment in Boise,  role involves designing mechanical and electromechanical products, engineering documentation, estimating, and process improvement. You will collaborate with other teams including purchasing, operations, and manufacturing.

B.S.M.E. or similar, 3+ years’ experience in areas such as product development, mechanical design, and process improvement. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and proficient in Solid Works or similar 3D design software. Experience with pneumatics, fabricated weldments, bulk handling, and system design is a plus. A team-player with a positive and helpful attitude is required.

• Develops new systems and products by applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, fluids, and materials. Must be able to develop a concept through production.
• Develops mechanical and electromechanical products by studying customer requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials; soliciting observations from operators.
• Provides task management for projects, ensuring proper and timely execution of project deliverables.
• Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.
• Analyzes current processes to determine process / product improvements to improve manufacturing costs. Works with management and manufacturing to implement improvements.
• Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished-product and system capabilities; confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.
• Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests.
• Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Coordinates with other departments to assure that projects are done in a timely manner.
• Interfaces with customer contacts to determine their needs, troubleshoot problems and collect feedback on our products (VOC).
• Evaluate competitive product lines to determine any competitive advantages.
