We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician II to support on‑farm maintenance staff through installation, repairs, and training across Iowa Select Farms facilities.

• This role supports on‑farm maintenance techs by assisting and training with facility and equipment repairs and managing contract crews under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Responsible for supporting and assisting with minor maintenance while executing major repairs of swine facilities and equipment for Iowa Select Farms.

• Adhere to ISF animal wellbeing policy and report any violations to management team.
• Adhere to ISF safety policies and procedures, wear appropriate safety equipment (PPE) for appropriate tasks, and work in a generally safe manner.
• Utilize the ISF Tools work ticket system to effectively track all repairs and materials associated with each repair.
• Demonstrate general trade knowledge, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry and welding.
• Prioritize maintenance and repair items based upon highest priority. Animal welfare items [feed, water, air/ventilation, animal containment] are of immediate concern.
• Be available to work on weekends for emergency maintenance needs.
• Provide guidance and hands‑on assistance with curtain systems, penning, feedlines, ventilation, waterlines, and other core barn systems.
• Training farm maintenance staff on proper repair techniques, safety practices, and preventative maintenance.
• Respond to emergency situations across multiple farms to ensure critical systems (feed, water, ventilation, power) are restored quickly.
• Coordinate and support larger repair needs such as roofing, siding, ceiling materials, electrical systems, and heating/cooling equipment.
• Assist with oversight and direction of contract crews performing major repair or installation projects.
• Provide backup and relief for on‑farm maintenance teams during high‑demand or urgent situations.
• Support seasonal and site needs including snow removal, mowing, weed control, and general site upkeep when required.
• Ensure all work aligns with Iowa Select Farms’ standards for animal well‑being, facility safety, and operational efficiency.

• Adhere to Iowa Select Farms bio‑security policy at all times, reporting any violations or concerns to management team.
• Compliance with Iowa Select Farms safety policies and procedures, which includes continuous education to maintain a safe work environment.
• Follow Iowa Select Farms animal wellbeing policy at all times and partner with the Production Well‑being team promptly if an incident occurs.

• This position is performed both indoors and outdoors.
• May require tasks in extreme outside weather conditions.
• Duties occur in all facilities of Iowa Select Farms; employees must be comfortable working in all environments.
• Noise levels can be loud.
• Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibrations.
• Potential for nuisance gases and dust, particularly in winter.
• Direct contact with animals may occur; bio‑security practices must be understood and practiced.
