Pay Range: $23 – $25 per hour

Responsibilities- Act as a technical resource in the laboratory.
- Perform sample analysis, provide feedback and suggest process improvements.
- Educate and train departmental personnel on correct procedures and new analysis methods.
- Communicate with technical support to provide answers to questions.
- Complete non‑conformance root‑cause analysis and corrective action documentation.
- Maintain knowledge of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) required to complete job responsibilities.
- Follow appropriate methods and SOPs on all tasks and maintain quality control documentation.
- Analyze and approve client results, read, enter, formulate and evaluate process control samples.
- Assist with managing department inventory and cultures.
- Implement new methods and identify deviations from the quality system or test procedures.
- Assist other departmental personnel with analysis procedures.
- Perform rapid test methods, calculate and record analysis data to produce reports for clients.
- Keep up‑to‑date on assigned training and participate in cleaning schedule.
- Perform preventative maintenance and basic troubleshooting of laboratory equipment critical to sample analysis.
- Adhere to all safety policies and support laboratory management in implementing, maintaining and improving the management system.
- Perform other related tasks as needed.
- Associates degree required;
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience. - 2–5 years relevant work experience in microbiology.
- Basic knowledge of microbiology, chemistry, and food science.
- Analytical skills essential for completing analysis procedures and determining microorganism concentration.
- Knowledge of LIMS for processing client data.
- Physical dexterity required for manipulating samples.
- Basic knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and practices.
- Interpersonal skills to work effectively within teams.
