Are you an experienced phlebotomist looking for a flexible and rewarding role that combines clinical expertise with compassionate patient care? VIP Labs is seeking skilled Mobile Phlebotomists to join our team of professionals dedicated to making diagnostic testing more accessible and patient-centered. This independent contractor opportunity allows you to work in diverse settings, including patients' homes, healthcare facilities, and other approved locations, while delivering high-quality laboratory collection services.

Responsibilities

As a Mobile Phlebotomist with VIP Labs, you’ll take ownership of your assignments and provide exceptional patient care. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Traveling to patient locations to perform professional specimen collections, including venipuncture and specialized collections like blood cultures, while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Managing your schedule effectively to arrive on time for appointments, accounting for travel, traffic, and laboratory deadlines. Promptly addressing any delays or issues that arise.
  • Ensuring specimen quality by accurately labeling, processing, packaging, and transporting samples in compliance with laboratory requirements.
  • Maintaining clear, accurate documentation of patient interactions, collection outcomes, and follow-up needs, while adhering to HIPAA and infection-prevention protocols.
  • Resolving field issues, such as collection difficulties or missing information, and communicating unresolved matters promptly.
  • Representing VIP Labs with professionalism and respect, creating a safe and confidential service environment for patients.
Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • At least 3 years of professional phlebotomy experience, with strong venipuncture skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Current phlebotomy certification and proficiency in patient identification, specimen labeling, processing, and transport.
  • A valid driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, and current automobile insurance.
  • Strong time-management, navigation, communication, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to use a smartphone and electronic systems for documentation and updates.
  • Professional presentation and respectful patient interactions, with the ability to travel between locations and transport necessary supplies.

Preferred Experience: Previous mobile phlebotomy experience is strongly preferred. Experience serving geriatric, homebound, assisted-living, nursing-home, or memory-care patients is highly valued, as is confidence with difficult venipuncture and blood-culture collection.

Compensation

This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity, offering compensation of $20–$25 per completed patient
, as outlined in the contractor agreement. Please note that contractors are responsible for their own taxes and vehicle-related expenses, including fuel, mileage, maintenance, tolls, and parking. Company-sponsored benefits are not provided.
