As part of a strategic growth plan, this hire is being made in support of goals to develop subsurface investigation services with the launch of a dedicated Geophysics Department. This will start with adding Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) capabilities, followed by Refraction Microtremor (ReMi) services.
We’re seeking motivated, skilled professionals with GPR experience who will play an instrumental role in establishing these new services.
This is a hands-on field role with significant long-term career potential. As demand grows, the successful candidate will gain opportunities to assist department leadership with coordination, scheduling, workflow development, and marketing input.

- Perform Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) surveys to locate utilities, voids, rebar, post-tension cables, and other subsurface or structural features
- Collect, interpret, and analyze GPR data to create accurate findings for internal teams and clients
- Conduct site reconnaissance and prepare work areas for safe, efficient field operations
- Prepare detailed field reports, logs, and data summaries documenting methods and findings
- Work with geotechnical engineers and project managers to integrate GPR results into project deliverables
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot GPR equipment and related field instruments
- Follow all company and site-specific safety protocols, including job hazard assessments
- Communicate clearly with clients, contractors, and coworkers regarding project objectives
- Support other geophysical and geotechnical tasks, such as ReMi testing, CMT, or drilling assistance
- Travel to project sites throughout Missouri and the Midwest as required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 4+ years of GPR field experience (utility locating or concrete scanning preferred)
- Working knowledge of GPR equipment and software (e.g., GSSI SIR, Sensors & Software)
- Proficiency with GSSI SIR processing software, MS Word, and Excel
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience writing technical reports
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability and willingness to travel for field assignments
- Experience with ReMi or other geophysical methods
- OSHA 10/30 certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience supporting construction material testing
