About the RoleWe are currently looking for an experienced Medical Assistant to join our team. The Medical Assistant works closely with a primary care physician to deliver excellent patient care and provide an exceptional guest experience. Because of our unique model, our Medical Assistants oversee the full spectrum of the patient experience—acting as a Medical Receptionist and fulfilling clinical responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Escort patients to rooms and ensure that exam rooms are thoroughly cleaned and stocked
- Review previous medical information and gather any relevant updated health information from the patient to inform the provider
- Take vitals, perform blood draws, give injections, bandage wounds, assist with procedures, and work with contracted labs for additional tests
- Prepare and administer approved medications and immunizations per provider orders
- Partner with other care team members to develop individual patient plans of care, identifying and addressing gaps
- Front desk duties including patient scheduling, medical record requests and abstraction, documentation, specialist visits, referrals, and other care coordination, as well as check‑in and check‑out
- Record accurate and pertinent data in the medical record according to documentation guidelines
- Process test results and provide patients with timely results via e‑message, mail, or phone as directed by the provider
- Participate in outreach to patients to drive engagement among eligible patient groups
- Maintain clinical and office supplies and equipment for treatments
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in primary care (may vary based on clinic needs)
- Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program or a related program
- National or state‑specific MA certification or registration strongly preferred; required in states where certification/registration is mandatory
- CPR/BLS certification required at the time of start date
- Phlebotomy experience preferred
