Automotive Mechatronics Technician | Prototype Vehicle Testing & Measurement Systems
We are seeking an experienced Automotive Mechatronics Technician to join a leading premium automotive manufacturer, supporting the maintenance and operation of advanced vehicle measurement technology systems used within prototype and development vehicles.

About the RoleYou will be responsible for maintaining and supporting measurement technology installed in prototype vehicles. This includes CAN gateways, data logging equipment, storage devices, computing hardware, sensors, and associated cabling. You will carry out inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and component replacements to ensure all systems function reliably and safely throughout vehicle testing programmes. You will also collaborate closely with a specialist engineering support team based in Germany, who provide technical guidance and development expertise.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct daily visual inspections of prototype vehicles and document their condition.
- Perform functional tests and measurement checks on installed systems.
- Record and report test results accurately.
- Identify potential faults and sources of error before they impact testing activities.
- Repair damaged connectors, cables, sensors, mounting brackets, and related components.
- Replace and install vehicle components including:
- Sensors
- Electronic Control Units (ECUs)
- Ensure measurement technology systems remain in a test-ready condition at all times.
- Liaise with specialist engineering teams to resolve technical issues and support ongoing system development.
- Qualified Automotive Mechatronics Technician or equivalent automotive technical qualification.
- Strong vehicle diagnostics and fault-finding experience.
- Solid understanding of automotive vehicle networking systems, including CAN-based environments.
- Electrical connectors
- Vehicle wiring and cables
- Mounting brackets and component holders
- Wiring harnesses and custom assemblies
- Ability to troubleshoot complex automotive electrical and mechanical systems.
