A Local Authority in Crewe is seeking an experienced Procurement Officer to support the Category Managers in delivering high-quality procurement activity across a range of service areas.
This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional with public sector experience to play a key role in ensuring best value for money and supporting the delivery of the Council’s Procurement Strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide procurement support across sourcing, purchasing, and tendering activities
Assist with contract and supplier management to drive value and performance
Support Category Managers across key service areas such as People’s, Adults, Children’s, or Public Health
Ensure compliance with procurement regulations and internal policies
Contribute to delivering best value outcomes for the Council and its clients
About You:
Experience in procurement within the public sector (desirable)
Knowledge of sourcing, negotiation, tendering, and contract management
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
