This is your opportunity to take on a senior role where you’ll shape the built environment across a diverse and growing borough, from charming countryside developments to major commercial projects.

As a Principal Building Inspector, you’ll :

• Lead on inspections and ensure compliance across a varied caseload
• Support and mentor colleagues, sharing your technical knowledge and experience
• Take the lead on enforcement and investigations
• Respond to dangerous structures and ensure public safety
• Build strong relationships with developers, architects, and the wider community
• Play a key role in driving innovation and continuous improvement across the service
• Contribute to strategic decision-making and help shape policy and practice

• A confident, experienced professional with at least 5 years in building control
• Registered at Class 2D with the Building Safety Regulator
• A chartered member of a relevant professional body (e.g. CABE, CIOB)
• Technically strong, with a good understanding of legislation
• Flexible, proactive, and a great team player
• Committed to high standards and passionate about making a positive impact
• Ready to take the next step in their career and lead by example
