A specialist SEMH school in Crewe is seeking a dedicated and resilient teaching assistant to support primary and secondary pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for a teaching assistant who is passionate about making a real difference to the lives of young people who require additional support.

As a teaching assistant, you will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support pupils both inside and outside the classroom. The school supports pupils across primary and secondary age ranges, many of whom face challenges related to emotional regulation, behaviour, and engagement with learning. The successful teaching assistant will help create a calm, structured, and nurturing environment where pupils feel safe and supported.

• Supporting pupils with SEMH needs in their learning as a teaching assistant
• Working with both primary and secondary pupils to promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation
• Providing one-to-one and small group interventions as a teaching assistant
• Supporting pupils during transitions and unstructured times such as breaks
• Helping pupils develop confidence, resilience, and positive relationships

The school is looking for a teaching assistant who:

• Is patient, calm, and emotionally resilient
• Has experience working with SEMH, SEND, or challenging behaviour (desirable not essential)
• Can build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
• Is committed to supporting pupils' social, emotional, and academic development
