Teaching Assistant for Trauma Impacted Looked After Children
Working in a school that supports Looked After Children (LAC) who have experienced trauma or adverse childhood experiences (ACE), you will provide classroom support to help children thrive. The school serves students from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 4 and offers a full curriculum.
Responsibilities- Provide classroom support, facilitating student engagement and learning.
- Deliver a therapeutic approach to behavior management, supporting emotional regulation and mental health.
- Assist pupils with challenging behavior, SEMH needs, autism, ADHD, or other needs.
- Support pastoral care, ensuring students feel safe and supported.
- Qualified Teaching Assistant or Residential Support Worker.
- Experience working with young people with SEMH, autism, ADHD, or other needs.
- Experience supporting pupils with challenging behavior and backgrounds of trauma.
- Strong communication skills and ability to maintain student attention and focus.
- Comfortable working in a residential or school-based LAC environment.
