As one of our Bentley apprentices, you will combine practical experience with classroom learning to achieve an Electrical Engineering degree (Level
6). You will play a significant part in our business as we continue on this exciting journey to deliver extraordinary vehicles for our customers. Based out of our state-of-the‑art headquarters in Crewe, you will:

About the role

Working within the Energy & Thermal Systems Department, you will have exposure to the best luxury cars in the world, whilst working alongside and being mentored by Automotive engineering professionals. You will gain invaluable experience collaborating with different business areas and ensuring the highest quality system functionality for our customers.

Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to
  • Working in collaboration with the engineers to develop, integrate and validate power and energy systems components for future combustion, PHEV and BEV vehicle projects, ranging from 12V to High Voltage systems,
  • Work with engineers to support test planning, preparation and test activities (rig and vehicle), including the instrumentation of vehicles,
  • Development of test rigs to improve the efficiency of software validation prior to vehicle testing,
  • Collaborate with other areas of the business, participating in cross‑functional problem solving for pre‑series and current model production issues,
  • Work with technical managers to develop the application of technological innovations, to support future projects,
  • The opportunity to travel globally.
About the Department

The Energy and Thermal Systems Department is responsible for developing a range of energy control and storage systems across our range of combustion and electrified vehicle projects. Systems within the department include HV storage, HV charging, DCDC conversion, Traction Inverters and Thermal Management, together with energy management systems. The successful candidate will be coached and mentored by technical experts gaining invaluable skills and experience in a fast‑paced environment.

we’re looking for Training Provider Entry Requirements

T here are two training providers available, please see entry requirements below

Warwick University
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grade 4/C or above
  • 112 UCAS tariff points.
  • Applicants must also hold GCSE grades in Maths, English and additional STEM subject at grades C (or
    4) or above.
  • Disciplines studied post GCSE must include any of Engineering or relevant STEM subjects (Physics recommended).
  • In addition to the required entry tariff, applicants must have also achieved an A level in Maths at Grade

    B.
  • T Levels:
    At the moment we don’t accept T levels (this is subject to constant review by the University).
