The Fuel Finance department has an opportunity within the Financial Operations team for a Financial Operations Assistant to oversee an area of the group’s operational and invoicing processes.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that the day-to-day operations of the department run smoothly by ensuring that systems and processes are used effectively to maximise efficiency, with an ongoing focus on continuous development. The Financial Operations team have a key focus on customer facing outputs which maintain the flow of revenue into the business.

This role requires excellent attention to detail and the ability to plan and prioritise a busy workload in order to meet challenging deadlines.

• Producing high quality and accurate customer invoices on a consistent & timely basis.
• Ownership of an end-to-end billing process, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing and revenue recognition activities.
• Following procedures and strong controls to ensure processes are completed in full and to a best-in-class standard.
• Producing weekly volume and margin analysis which compare actuals to budget and drives an internal authorisation stage of the billing process.
• Processing of customer Direct Debits in line with strict deadlines to maintain the flow of cash into the business.
• Working closely with other Departments to resolve internal and external queries in a timely manner.
• Contribute to process improvements and cross-functional projects.
• Develop and maintain relationship with external partners.
• Develop and maintain process controls.
• Assist the Financial Operations Manager with ad hoc tasks.

• Previous financial experience is not a necessity
• Good experience in Microsoft Excel e.g. pivot tables, formulas (training will be provided where necessary)
