We are seeking a highly motivated individual to work as a ward clerk supporting Ward 9.
The successful candidate will need to be forward‑thinking and able to provide a full range of clerical duties to support the smooth running of the ward.
Good organisational and communication skills are essential, as well as a flexible approach to work. Knowledge of health IT systems to include PCS would be desirable, although full training will be given.
The position will cover weekends, days and evenings up to 10 pm, and both full‑time and part‑time positions are available.
Main duties of the job- Maintenance of patient notes and computer systems.
- Communication with a wide range of professionals, consultants, doctors, nursing staff, and patients/relatives.
- Organisation of own workload to maintain an efficient and professional service.
Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT) provides good quality, safe and effective healthcare to the people of Cheshire and beyond. Job responsibilitiesTo provide a comprehensive administration and clerical service within the ward.
The post holder will be required to understand ward systems, taking into account the needs of patients who require admission, transfer and discharge, and be expected to communicate with a wide range of professionals, consultants, doctors, nursing staff and patients/relatives and carers, organising own workload in order to maintain an efficient and professional service.
Person Specification Experience- Proficient in computer skills, ECDL or equivalent, Microsoft Office
- Previous NHS experience with the Hospitals computer systems
- Excellent verbal and non‑verbal communication skills
- Demonstrate good understanding of working on a busy ward/work environment
- Previous experience working with patients notes and filing
