Male Support Worker

Location:

Wistaston, Crewe
Pay: £13.10 per hour

About the Role

Gray Healthcare is recruiting a Male Support Worker to support a gentleman in his 30s living independently in his own home in Wistaston, Crewe. He has diagnoses of Learning Disabilities, Autism, and Epilepsy and receives 2:1 support, 24 hours a day from a dedicated male support team. This is a highly rewarding, person-centred role focused on promoting independence, wellbeing, and meaningful community participation.

The individual has a great sense of humour and enjoys spending time in the community, including car journeys and bowling trips. A full UK automatic driving licence is essential, as the individual has access to a mobility vehicle to access the community.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Supporting the individual to live safely and independently
  • Promoting routine, structure, and meaningful activity
  • Following person-centred support plans and risk assessments
  • Using calm, consistent, and least restrictive approaches
  • Supporting emotional wellbeing and responding to distress
  • Building a trusting and professional relationship
  • Working as part of a consistent team
What We're Looking For
  • Experience working within Health and Social Care.
  • Experience supporting individuals with Learning Disabilities, Autism, and/or complex health needs.
  • Experience supporting individuals whose behaviours may be considered challenging.
  • Experience implementing support plans, care plans, and risk assessments.
  • Full UK Automatic Driving Licence.
  • Good communication, literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
  • A calm, resilient, and person-centred approach.
  • Current Right to Work in the UK.
  • Minimum of 6 months employment history within the UK.

Desirable:
Previous experience supporting individuals with Epilepsy.

Working Hours

24-hour contract
2x 12-hour day shifts per week (8:00am to 8:00pm)
1 sleep shift per week (8:00pm to 8:00am) paid at £100 per sleep
